Reports - now even more detail

There's a lot happening with dotMailer at the moment, and several upgrades are in the pipeline for release over the next few months.

Our major Autumn release has involved the reporting system, which has been completely rebuilt from the ground up. If you're an existing dotMailer user, you'll notice new options on the reporting screens that give you more detail and flexibility, especially if you're exporting report data into your own offline packages.

In brief, the changes are:

  • A new 'Hot Prospect' report, accessible from the 'Links Clicked' and 'Tracked Emails Opened' screens. This lets you create a report of users who've opened or clicked through from their email the most times - you set the threshold. This is an immensely useful way to immediately identify and follow up your best potential customers.

  • Improved 'Links Clicked' and 'Tracked Emails Opened' reports. From the tabs at the top you are now able to select which data fields you wish to appear in the report, and in which order. You can then export your report in this exact format to a CSV file - meaning that dotMailer provides you with a file that will import into any offline database.

Further improvements to these reports include a 'more details' pop up window for each recipient. This lets you tab between this person's 'opens' and 'clicks', saving you from having to look at two separate reports to find this information.

And finally... everything runs noticeably faster. dotMailer tracks every link in every email to every recipient in every mailing to generate these reports; we've introduced some new processes to help crunch this data.
