Uploading your email marketing data

Data upload is as easy as 123 with dotMailer!

Upload your data file

Your data can be uploaded as either a CSV or Excel file straight into your dotMailer All Contacts or create a new address book.

Map your data fields

dotMailer allows you to map the fields in your import files to the data fields you've created in dotMailer so you can create segmentation queries from this data or use it in personalisation.

You can choose how your data is mapped so you don't accidently write over your existing data (unless you want to of course). Choose between:

Update all existing fields
Don't update fields with blank
Merge data keeping existing values

Dedupe on upload

dotMailer checks on upload for duplicate email addresses and also email addresses which have previously unsubscribed or hard bounced. These addresses won't be added to your dotMailer account so you can't email them or send the same campaign to the same email address twice!

DataWatchdog

The dotMailer watchdog maintains your and our sender reputation and maximises your email delivery rates. No piece of data makes it into dotMailer without passing the Watchdog first!
